The Mama Mia Story
This little nest of Italian delight is a favourite with both locals and tourists alike. Mama Mia provides an intimate and authentic slice of Italian heaven right here in Barbados. Upon entering you are greeted by our friendly staff who welcomes you to experience the Mama Mia Lifestyle. Mama Mia was started up by Guise “Mama” Ferri. Mama hailed from the southern part of Italy (Naples), and it is here that she learnt all of her italian recipes which are now at the core of the concept of the restaurant. Mama Mia is a family owned business and first opened its doors in 2003 and is now known in Barbados for its delicious food and great customer experience. Mama Mia has now won the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence on several occasions; 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 , 2019 and 2020.
History
Mama Mia is a family owned business operated by the Ferri family, who moved to Barbados in the early 90’s from Italy. Upon arriving to the island they immediately saw an opportunity to get involved in the industry, and have since owned a number of food related businesses over the last 20 years. Mama Mia first opened its doors in 2003 and is now known in Barbados for its delicious food and great customer experience. Mama Mia has now won the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence 3 years in a row in 2012, 2013,2014 and also for 2016,2017,2018 and 2019.
